Love your bedroom
with Feng Shui
Changing your bedroom can change your life.
We spend one third of our life in the bedroom - and it is
where we renew our energy. It’s the most private space your house. It’s where
we are naked and have sex. Where we heal when we are sick or cry when we are
sad.
It’s where we can be 100&% ourselves, meditate or just
relax.
But the bedroom also has a deeper symbolism in our lives.
The room and its interior is a picture of your love life - including the love
for yourself. Do you love yourself? And is your bedroom a beautiful and
dignified setting for your love life?
1.THE
BEDROOM’S LOCATION
Choose the room located at the back of the home, since this
is where you find the calmest energy. The front room facing the street will be
characterized by a more lively energy that doesn’t match the function of the
bedroom. It can also be difficult to feel private, stripped naked and having
sex at full speed, if you have the feeling that the neighbors, the postman or
the dog walkers can see everything.
Well our Master is facing both the front and the back of the
house.
Note to myself:
WINDOW COVERINGS TOWARDS THE STREET.
2.COLORS
IN THE BEDROOM
Only use calming and relaxing colors in the bedroom. Use
warm colors and a color scheme that are closest to the human skin tones but not
the same color as your skin. Picture yourself in you bedding. Do you look
inviting and irresistible?
Use a pink, salmon, red, brown or yellow color scheme.
Don’t use green and blue colors, as they will make you look
sick and unattractive. Grey is not a color and will not add any energy or wauu
factor to the room.
Colors for the different compass directions:
North: blue, black, white, gray, silver & gold
Northwest: white, gray, silver, gold, yellow, brown
West: white, gray, silver, gold, yellow, brown
South: red, pink, orange, purple, lavender, green
Southwest: red, pink, orange, purple, lavender, green
South: green, blue, black
Northeast: red, pink, orange, purple, lavender, brown,
yellow
East: green, blue, black
Okay no greys and no lined color
bedding as I will “disappear” and no bright colors.
Note to myself:
Check basement for paint.
3.
THE
BEDS LOCATION IN THE ROOM
The bed should always, if possible, be located in the room's
“power spot”. The “Power spot” is
that spot in the room where you have a clear view of doors and windows and have
a solid wall behind you. In this spot you can easily orient yourself to the
entire room. You keep your "power" because you are in control and no
one can attack you from behind.
My bed is currently placed in between to window.
Note to myself:
MOVE BED?!
4.
THE
BED
The bed is a central and essential furniture for every human
being. It is not a question whether we WANT to have a bed in our home we simply
NEED a bed.
No matter how much you move around and decorate, you'll
never have a good night sleep before you select a proper bed/ mattress.
Is your mattress worthy carrying you through life? Does it provide
comfort with a simultaneously strong, firm and soft grip - or is it flat, worn
and unsteady?
Also avoid using the space underneath the bed for storage.
We have two full size mattresses joined
into one bed (9’ wide and 6.5’ long). We call it a “Ellicott Emperor” J. We bought the beds 3 years ago so I think we are good.
5.
HEADBOARD
A headboard provides support, symbolic, visual and sometimes
structural. When we sleep with a headboard, we will experience a sense of
support in life - a feeling that there is "something we can lean
against". It provides a deeper night's sleep, but also embeds an inner
sense of "support", trust and strength.
Another benefit is that a headboard creates a focal point
for the bed and gives the bed the majestic look, as it should have in the room.
We already have headboards.
Note to myself:
REDESIGN HEADBOARDS???
6.
NIGHT
STANDS
As the wings of a plane, nightstands ensure the harmony and
ballance, not just in the sleep, but also in the relationship.
Avoid sharp edges. Make sure your nightstands have round
edges cause sharp edges will send bad energy into the room.
We already have nice nightstands.
Note to myself:
Are the nightstands to small compared to the
size of our bed????
7.
TEXTILES
Furniture contributes to create a home, but it’s the textiles,
which makes us FEEL at home in the home.
If you really want to upgrade your bedroom into something
that can outperform any hotel suite, then simply introduce twice as much fabric
as you have right now (at least). Buy carpets, curtains, upholstery, throw
pillows and throws. Not just one - but all together! - And in generous amounts.
Remember to choose bedding that will kiss you and hug you
every single time you go to bed.
Everything you dress up your bed with is of course, textile,
but you need more than that. Carpets, for your feet to step out on, curtain
from floor to ceiling and an upholstered armchair, ottoman or sofa (if space is
available). They all contribute with softness to the room. And remember not
only to use cotton fabrics, use velour, velvet, silk and fur gives an exclusive
boost to your personal sanctuary.
AND remember to make your bed every day, use a beautiful
bedspread and decorate with some delicious throw pillows. It makes a huge
difference to enter a bedroom where the bed looks inviting
We have carpet on the floor. Lined
curtains, Velour headboards and a textured sofa.
Note to myself:
THROW PILLOWS!!!
8.
WALL
DECOR
Decorates with pictures that remind you of love. NOT
pictures of your children or your family cause you don’t want them as an
audience in the bedroom!!! Find images that remind you of the love for your
partner. It could, for example, be pictures of your girlfriend / couple
pictures of you and your spouse, or paintings with lovers or images with the
word "love". Avoid pictures over the bed. Alternatively, you can put
up a nice wall decal with a saying about love if you think the wall looking
bare without.
Mirrors should be avoided too. Most importantly make sure
you can’t see yourself in the mirror while lying in bed. Mirrors will throw
back the energy and it’s not good to be hit by all that energy while sleeping
We have no wall décor at all besides a way to expensive
painting form a Danish artist.
Note to myself:
MAKE PAINTING OR BUY A DECAL????
9.
DECLUTTER
Don’t use your bedroom as a graveyard for left over
furniture. Don’t use it as a storage room or a gym. Declutter and only have
things that belong in the bedroom and only things you use. The rest will just
be a dust collector. If you need storage use a cabinet or a dresser and be
organized.
Imagine that everything makes a noise. How noisy is your
bedroom?
Our bedroom is nearly empty. But I
have some leftovers I need to move and a basket with leftover socks that needs
a new home.
10.
OTHER
Put things in pairs for example: 2 candlesticks, 2 photo
frames, 2 figures, etc. Make sure they are close together, as too big a gap
between things can symbolize a distance in your relationship. And 3 are one to
many in the bedroom J
If possible, move electronics out of the bedroom. If you
can’t live without your flat screen, tablet or phone, try to keep it as far
away from your bed as possible – You could cover the TV with something when you
go to sleep.
